Match Report | The first league game of the season ended in disappointment for the ladies thirds on Saturday. The town side made a bright start creating a number of chances but their failure to capitalise on them cost them dearly as Stafford stunned them with three quick goals. Claire Miles pulled a goal back with a fine short corner strike. Tamworth continued to play some excellent hockey in the second half with youngsters Alice Gilman and Issy Hounsome outstanding in midfield and defence. Elaine Foxley scored a second for Tamworth but once again Stafford hit back to increase their lead, Claire Miles scored her second following good play from Elaine Foxley but as the town side continued to press forward Stafford caught them on the break to score their fifth.
