With the loss of players through injury Tamworth fielded a much changed team from the one that beat the league leaders last week losing their first game of the year to second placed Cannock in this rearranged league game on Saturday. Tamworth were put under pressure from the start but defended superbly to keep Cannocks forwards at bay. The town side looked dangerous on the break and came close to taking the lead before their opponents pressure finally paid off as they took the lead from a deflected shot that gave keeper Vicky Butler no chance.
The second session was more of the same as Tamworth were forced onto the back foot, Linda Harrison and Lesley Broadway made a number of vital tackles in defence but two goals in five minutes gave Cannock the win.
