Match Report | The ladies thirds secured their first league win of the season beating Dudley 3-1. Tamworth made abright start to the match but suffered an early setback when they lost Captain Lesley Broadway with a back injury. The town side reshuffled their back line and settled into a good pattern of play. The half was a closely fought one with both sides creating chances but unable to capitalise on them. But with only a couple of minutes left in the half the town finally made the break through when Di Milner latched onto Elaine Foxley's pass to coolly slot the ball past the on rushing keeper. Early in the second half Dudley hit Tamworth on the break to equalise, but the town side responded in style as Elaine Foxley scored probably one of the goals of the season, straight from the restart she was allowed to run half the length of the pitch before slotting the ball past the keeper to restore Tamworth's lead. Tamworth played with real confidence from that moment and any Dudley attacks found the defensive quartet of Issy Hounsome, Kate Caddick, Lisa Moore and Chris Mander to strong to get past. The town side began to dominate possession and pressed forward at every oppourtunity and their pressure was rewarded when a short corner strike was stopped on the line by a defenders foot and the town were awarded a penalty flick which was converted by Claire Miles to make the final score 3-1 to Tamworth.
