Match Report | In the first round of England Hockey masters (over 45s) Tamworth faced a well drilled Kettering team. The opening exchanges saw both teams playing some good hockey. 5 minutes in Tamworth we’re awarded a penalty corner that saw Rachel Rowe put the ball onto a Kettering foot on the line - Claire miles stepped up to convert the resulting flick to give.Tamworth the lead. Excellent midfield play by Fiona Wylie, Miles and Jacqui Casey didn’t result in shots on goal but Kettering capitalised on their chances and they went into the break 3 - 1 up. Kettering scores 2 more shortly after the break but Tamworth didn’t give up and kept pressing despite miles having to leave the pitch due to injury. Di Milner, who had run well up front scored a well worked goal following excellent passes jo cliff who passed to Sam bowyer who found Milner in a great position. Tamworth kept pressing and a number of passes between Casey and Wylie resulted in jo Bryan finishing well past the keeper. 5 minutes later Bryan scored again following another good passing move that was started by Lesley broadway. Tamworth ran out of time to find the equaliser and now go into the plate completion Player of the match was Fiona Wylie with muppet of the match going to miles for being s drama queen when injured ! |
