Match Report | The ladies twos travelled to N. Staffs for a late game on Saturday disappointingly coming away with no points. Tamworth started brightly passing the ball around nicely but they were caught on the break as N. Staffs took the lead. Claire Miles equalised for Tamworth with a first time strike after a strong run from Nadia Williams who slipped the ball to Miles to notch her 13th goal of the season to go into the break all square. The second session never flowed as some overly aggressive play from the towns opposition broke up the rhythm of the game. Tamworth again enjoyed plenty of possession with youngsters Nadia Williams making some strong runs, Sophie Marshall was strong in defence and Eden Collier showed some great skill in midfield. Nicky Youngman pulled of some excellent saves in goal but could do nothing about a well-executed short corner strike that gave N. Staffs the lead, and although the town continued to press forward they were unable to find the equaliser. |
