Match Report | Tamworth ladies thirds returned to league action after the Christmas break playing out an entertaining 1-1 draw against local rivals Lichfield. The town side started brightly as they passed the ball around nicely with Lesley Broadway and Sam Bowyer setting up a number of impressive moves with Nadia Williams making some excellent runs down the right flank, but the town side were unable to capitalise on the chances created and went into the break all square. Lichfield came more into the game in the second half and the town side were indebted to goalkeeper Lisa Moore who made a number of excellent saves and Audrey Warburton who also made a number of vital tackles but it was Lichfield who took the lead midway through the half. Tamworth responded well and equalised a Lesley Broadway pass found Di Milner who slipped the ball through to Becky Warburton who used her pace well to break free of the defender before calmly rounding the onrushing keeper to slot the ball home to earn the side a valuable point.
