Tamworth started really well with great passing moves in all areas of the pitch. Great work down the left between Lucy plant Becky moore and Aimee bishop saw a short corner awarded which Claire miles struck well, and Aimee bishop popped in the rebound off the keepers pads. A few minutes later miles made a weaving run through the centre beating the Phoenix defence and then passing to meg hogben who scored Tamworth’s second. A third followed quickly afterwards with Gemma Bradshaw putting in a great cross that miles forwarded to bishop for her second. Blues came out strongly on the second half and quickly got one back. Keeper Nicky Youngman kept Tamworth in the game making some excellent saves under great pressure. Bishop worked hard up front holding the ball up well when Tamworth broke out of their half. Plant and Moore continued to pass well and youngsters Sophie Marshall and meg hogben showed excellent positional play. Blues scored a second late on but Tamworth kept their heads to prevent the equalising goal. Miles was league player of the game with plant and bishop sharing the club player of the match.
