Tamworth started strongly against an under strength West brom team. Lucy plant and Becky moore worked well together in midfield and youngsters meg hogben and Nadia Williams ran well finding space and causing West Brom problems. Kirsty Wright and Aimee Bishop created chances throughout the game running around the West Brom defence and bishop scored mid way in the first half after a great passing move from defence to settle Tamworth’s nerves. Defender Paula Cooper scored with a great strike from a short corner pushed out by Wright to make it 2 nil at half time. Tamworth keeper Nicky Youngman made some great saves in the second half and and despite some excellent passing Tamworth couldn’t break the West Brom defence down and the score remained 2 nil. League player was Youngman and players player was hogben.
