Match Report | Tamworth Men's First XI lost 7-1 away to Derby with their worst performance for some weeks. Tamworth were missing a few regular players but got off to the worst possible start as they crumbled under the pressure of a high press and conceded possession in key areas and with it goals. Town did get a foothold in the game when Ryan Brisco fired a pinpoint pass into the D which Tom Sperrink collected, rounded the keeper and beat the player on the line but it was a small mercy as Town went in 6-1 down at the break. In the second half Tamworth preserved some sense of respectability to the scoreline as they only conceded once more but apart from a Tom Hancox penalty corner shot which slipped pass the right hand post Town created little of note. Town face Market Harborough on Saturday as they aim to finish in the top 4. |
