Match Report | Tamworth Men's First XI were beaten 7-3 at home to Ramgahria Derby on Saturday. Tamworth had the perfect start when James Griffin drove towards the D and when the ball fell loose Tom Hancox smashing a shot into the top corner beyond the startled keeper. Ramgahria hit back but Tamworth regained the lead with Ian Wagstaff placing an inch perfect flick from a penalty corner beyond the keeper. Again Ramgahria equalised but Tamworth would take a 3-2 lead into half time with Tom Sperrink this time firing low into the bottom corner from another penalty corner. After the break Tamworth weathered a period with ten men when Ian Wagstaff was cautioned but couldn't when James Goode was given the same punishment soon after and Ramgahria quickly established an unassailable lead. The game descended into chaos in the closing stages with Andy Parker sent off and the opposition escaping punishment despite committing a number of even worse offences. |
