Match Report | Tamworth travellled to Belper to try to continue with their playing form from a fortnight ago v Towcester! Tamworth were under pressure for the first ten minutes but once they had settled and got used to the water based pitch that was very bouncy the tables turned, Tamworth attacked moving the ball quickly and were soon awarded a short corner which Gemma Rowe put away. Belper resumed with determination and soon equalised. Just before half time Tamworth attacked down the left and Stevie Oversby was there to put it away for it to be 2-1 going into the break. The second half was end to end both teams having possession in the middle of the pitch but Fiona Wylie won a fifty fifty ball passed immediately to Gemma Rowe who took the ball, dribbling passed a couple of players and as soon as she got into the ‘D’ shot and the goalie had no chance. A defensive mix up led to Belper scoring their second goal. Tamworth not giving up played with determination defending from the front and Meg Jacobs posted up, received the ball and passed it down the line to Stevie Oversby who having no support dribbled it into the ‘D’ one on one with the keeper and placed it nicely into the left hand corner. Great team performance and much needed 3 points with a double header next weekend.
