Match Report | Tamworth travelled away to Towcester on Saturday who were sitting 2nd in the league. Tamworth dominated play from the start, working in triangles over the pitch, supporting the player on the ball and creating space. Tamworth were soon awarded a short corner which Gemma Rowe buried into the goal. Tamworth continued pressing forward and there was great play down the left from Sarah Arnold, Fiona Wylie and Claire Hicks. Gemma scored her second goal from open play just before half time. Tamworth continued with determination and worked hard for each other. Youngster Jessica Barker had another good game, creating space when attacking and putting Towcester under pressure. Amie Bishop and Meg Jacobs created space up front and Towcesters defence were run ragged. Stevie Oversby received the ball on the edge of the ‘d’ and forced a foul which led to a penalty corner where captain Rowe scored her hat trick! It was a fabulous team performance. |
