Match Report | Ready and raring to go from an undefeated start to the league, Tamworth ladies 1st set out to continue in style. However, Stone took Tamworth by surprise and quickly went 3-0 ahead. Undeterred, Tamworth demonstrated a high level of determination and began to launch their attack. Their first goal came from Claire Hicks, who roofed the ball over goalkeeper before captain Gemma Rowe quickly followed suit with a well-worked short corner - the home team were hungry for the win! After the half time team talk, Tamworth came back in fine form and Stone didn't see much of the ball. Alex Gayton opened the second half plethora of goals, converting a powerfull cross from Charley Rowe. This was soon followed by a spectacular reverse hit from Georgie Langley who also found the back of the net. With the wind in their sails, the goals kept coming: Rach Rowe tipped the ball into the net and Meg Jacobs beat the goalkeeper twice to finish the match 7-3. |
