Tamworth started brightly, passing the ball around as well as they had done the previous week. Phoenix blues were playing well and keeper lisa moore made a number of excellent saves frustrating the opposition. Nil nil at half time blues came out strongly and scored from a rebounded short corner. Five minutes later A great ball from defence by sarah Hutchins found claire Miles who, with pinpoint accuracy, slipped the ball to Elaine foxley who beat 3 defenders to pass the ball into the net to equalise. Paula cooper made a number of excellent runs from right defence to open up play, passing to jess barker who had another excellent game in midfield. Anne Marshall and Kirsty wright ran tirelessly up front and youngster meg hogben scored a great winning goal from a Marshall cross with 10 minutes to go. Tamworth player of the match was jess barker with league player going to Miles.
