Match Report | The ladies thirds secured an impressive result against promotion chasing Streetly on Saturday coming away with a well-deserved draw. It was a classic game of two halves with Streetly having the better of the first with their pacey forwards causing problems for the towns defence, Sophie Marshall was the pick of the towns defence making a number of excellent tackles and clearances, but it was an unfortunate defensive mix up that gifted Streetly the lead midway through the half. Elaine Foxley equalised for Tamworth following some good play from Tilly Bryan, to go into the break all square. After a reshuffle at half time Tamworth were more solid in defence and their midfield started to have more possession and have the better of the second session. Emily Barker worked tirelessly in midfield, but again it was Streetly who regained the lead. The town side responded well and enjoyed their best spell of the match with some super passing forcing a number of short corners from one of which Claire Miles scored the town’s second goal. Sam Bowyer, Jo Cliffe, Chris Mander and Kate Caddick made a number of important tackles, alongside keeper Vicky Butler who cleared well to keep Streetly at bay late on giving Tamworth a well-deserved point.
