Tamworth Ladies Thirds Vs Bloxwich

The first game back after the Christmas Break saw Tamworth 3s fielding a different line up once again. The game was very even during the first half with attacks at both ends of the field. There were some excellent passing moves involving Sophie Marshall Emily Barker and Tilly Bryan on the right and Eden Collier and Elaine Foxley on the left which eventually gave the home side the first goal, scored by Elaine Foxley.

Early in the second half Tamworth doubled their lead with a goal from Chris Mander. The passing moves continued but were defended well by Bloxwich. After a fairly long delay for a nasty injury to a Bloxwich player the town side found themselves defending more and more from an onslaught of attacks. Bloxwich scored their first goal from a well taken short corner. Tamworth kept working hard and Elaine Foxley scored her second of the game. Bloxwich continued to push more and more players into their attacks and their second goal came from all the pressure they were applying. With only 3 minutes left on the clock they managed to score a third and equalising goal. The final score was 3-3.

The youngsters really shone in this game playing some confident hockey and working together well.
