Match Report | Tamworth inflicted a first league defeat of the season over Keele on Saturday, with Captain Claire Miles scoring all four goals. The town started brightly with the midfield dominating possession creating numerous chances before Miles scored twice in the opening 15 minutes. Tamworth then lost some intensity to their play allowing Keele back into the game and their two goal advantage was pegged back going into the break all square. Tamworth responded well in the second half and once again the midfield of Lesley Broadway, Kate Caddick, Elaine Foxley and Emily Barker got a foothold in the game and dominated the play but once again a number of goal scoring chances were squandered. A miss-hit short corner strike from Miles deceived the keeper to restore the towns lead and give her hat-trick. Once again Keele hit back with some sustained pressure of their own, keeper Vicky Butler was called into action with a number of good saves and clearances and a goal line clearance from Sam Bowyer kept Tamworth’s lead intact before Miles scored her fourth to seal victory for the town side.
