Match Report | The ladies thirds faced a strong Streetly side on Saturday losing out 6-2. The town side took time to get into the game finding themselves 2-0 down after twenty minutes, and it could have been more had it not been for some excellent defending from Sophie Marshall. Tamworth settled and enjoyed their best period of the match and a through ball from Claire Miles found Elaine Foxley who beat a couple of players before slotting home from a tight angle to go into the break 2-1 down. In the second half Tamworth started brightly as they pushed for the equaliser, a couple of good opportunities were squandered before Streetly scored twice to go 4-1 up. The town’s second goal was well worked a fine ball from the back from Sam Bowyer found Claire Miles who linked up with Lesley Broadway and Di Milner before slotting home. Streetly added two more goals to make the final score 6-2. League POM Claire Miles Team POM Sophie Marshall |
