Match Report | Six goals from Di Milner and one for Claire Miles gave Tamworth a convincing win against Leek in their final league game of the season on Saturday. The town side started brightly as they dominated possession passing the ball around nicely but the Leek goal keeper had an excellent game as she saved shot after shot from Milner, Miles, Foxley and Wylie to keep Tamworth out. A break away attack then almost caught the town side out and only some last ditch defending stopped Leek taking the lead. Tara Wylie had another super game on the right of midfield as she set up two goals for Di Milner, Claire Miles then added a third soon after to give Tamworth a 3-0 lead. But an injury just before half time saw Tamworth go down to ten players for the rest of the game. Undeterred by this Tamworth’s midfield of Lesley Broadway, Elaine Foxley, Jo Bryan and Tara Wylie continued to dominate the play with youngster Wylie particularly impressive in only her second senior game as she was a constant threat down the right flank, Di Milner hit four more goals in the second half as Tamworth ran out comfortable winners.
