Match Report | Tamworth got their season back on track with 3 crucial points at home to Kidderminster, after a blistering start was followed by a more laboured second half performance.
The home side took the game to Kidderminster early on and enjoyed a large amount of possession inside the opposition’s half. They took the lead when a breakaway allowed Hancox to feed the ball through to Briscoe to finish beyond a stranded keeper. The lead was extended when Ben Acheson scrambled a ball over the line after Herring’s intial shot was blocked from a short corner. Tamworth completed the scoring when the ball looped to Sperrink and he struck it reverse stick into the top right hand corner.
Tamworth continued to put pressure on the Kidderminster goal in the second half but the ‘keeper pulled off some excellent saves to keep the score down and towards the end both teams seemed to lack impetus as the game petered out. |
