Match Report | Tamworth slumped to an 8-3 hammering by high scoring Redditch, again falling to build on a win the previous week. 4-0 down within 20 minutes Tamworth struggled to impose themselves on the game. Before half time Tamworth did manage to get a foothold in the match and reduced the deficit to 4-2 going into the half time break. First Sperrink wriggled clear from his marker and slipped the ball under the keeper before Hancox set up Brisco to fire past the keeper at his near post; Brisco could have added to his tally on the breakaway with Haywood laying him through but the keeper recovered to push to shot wide.
In the second half the away side immediately restored their lead with an early goal and although Herring deflected in from a well worked short corner routine to provide some hope it was not to be Tamworth’s day as Redditch added two more goals to complete the rout. |
