Match Report | Tamworth seconds were much changed this week for the rearranged league match against Keele University. Down one nil after an early short corner strike from Keele Tamworth quickly equalised and went one ahead with 2 well worked short corners finished by Claire Miles. Tamworth kept passing the ball well and forcing Keele to make mistakes. Youngsters Meg Hogben, Hannah Jarvis and Ellissa Morris all had excellent games working hard throughout the game. By the end of the first half Tamworth were 5 1 up following Miles completing her hat trick from open play and Di Milner finishing twice past a strong Keele keeper.
Keele started the second half brighter than Tamworth and scored again within a couple of minutes of the restart. Tamworth's defence then held strong for the rest of the game with Sarah Huntchins having an excellent game in centre ably supported by Lucy Plant and Sarah Price on the flanks.
Di Milner completed her hat trick finishing well after yet another great passing move to make the final score 6 2 and giving Tamworth 3 much needed points.
League player of the match was Miles with club player going to Meg Hogben |
