Match Report | The ladies seconds returned to action after the Christmas break with a well-earned draw against higher ranked opposition on Saturday. Tamworth were pinned back in their own half in the early stages as Aldridge played the ball around nicely putting the town defence under pressure. But as the town started to settle they began to create opportunities with youngsters Hannah Jarvis and Elissa Morris combining well in attack. It was Aldridge who took the lead with a well worked goal before Tamworth enjoyed a good 15 minute spell that saw them score three goals Kirsty Wright scoring the first with Hannah Jarvis adding two more to go into the break 3-1 up. The second half was evenly contested with both sides looking to add to their score and although Tamworth created numerous chances they failed to add to their tally and with Aldridge finishing the game strongly they scored two goals to salvage a draw, Sian Barrett made an outstanding debut for the seconds and was deservedly voted player of the match. |
