Tamworth Ladies Thirds Vs Streetly

Tamworth travelled to Streetly for their game on Saturday.  Both teams started brightly and there were attacking moves at both ends.   Streetly began to apply more pressure in their attacks but the first goal came for Tamworth,  a  great pass from Lesley Broadway looked to have too much on it but Di Milner managed to get on the end of it and smash in  a shot from the right of the D across the keeper for a fantastic goal.

Streetly were then awarded a short corner from another of their attacking moves and a great shot levelled the scores. End to end attacks continued throughout the rest of the half with both sides looking to add more goals. Streetly took the lead with a good goal from open play with the attacker weaving round a couple of players to score, they then increased their lead with another short corner strike to go 3-1 up.  Lesley Broadway pulled a goal back from a short corner to see the side go in 3-2 down at half time.

In the second half Tamworth upped their level and produced some fantastic passing moves all over the pitch completely dominating the half. The midfield and forwards worked tirelessly to try and produce a goal. Lesley Broadway scored her second from a well taken short corner to level at 3-3.  The towns defence continued to thwart any Streetly attack with their forwards continuing to apply pressure on the Streetly defence but they just couldn’t get that all important winner.

Tamworth battled well all game particularly in the second half and were unlucky not to take all 3 points.
