Match Report | Tamworth travelled to Wolverhampton knowing it was going to be a hard match as they only had 10 players. They started brightly putting some good passing moves together. A short corner was won and in a goal mouth scramble Meg Jacobs managed to score the first goal of the game. Wolves were frustrated by this and attacked more. They won a short corner themselves which was saved and cleared, but in another attack an awkward deflection from a defender sent the ball high and flying into the top corner of the goal for the equaliser. An injury to a Tamworth player left the team with 9 players for part of the first half, but they managed to keep attacking a getting back to defend in the end to end play. Another short corner was won by Wolves from which they scored with a fast and hard shot just inside the post. After the break Tamworth continued battling hard creating many chances, despite being a player down, but they just couldn't convert them. They won another short corner in which the shot was stopped on the line by a defender's feet. DiĀ Milner scored from the resulting flick to level the scores once again. Another injury resulted in the team being down to 9 players again and in the last 5 minutes Wolves managed to score a third goal to win the game 3-2. Tamworth battled hard the whole game but were disappointed with the result despite everyone trying their best. |
