Match Report | The ladies good form continued with a hard fought win against Bloxwich on Saturday. The first half was very evenly contested with no clear cut chances created for either side and the score remained goalless at half time. However in the second half Tamworth came out the stronger passing the ball around nicely, and a great cross from the right from Elaine Foxley found Chris Mander in the ‘D’ who slotted the ball home from close range to give the town side the lead. An unfortunate injury to Captain Lesley Broadway resulted in a short delay and a reshuffle for Tamworth who then played out the remaining 8 minutes with ten players but a brilliant reverse stick shot from Elaine Foxley extended Tamworth’s lead and give them a 2-0 win. Sian Barrett had another impressive game at the back with Meg Hogben POM. |
