Match Report |
Tamworth ladies thirds started brightly against a strong Stafford team despite fielding a changed line up. Gradually settling into the first half there were some great passing moves but the team were unable to capitalise once in the final third of the pitch. Excellent saves from goalkeeper, Margaret Worsley, and staunch defending from Sian Barrett and Sarah Mugleston kept the game even until Stafford finally found the back of the net with a well struck shot on target. An injury just before half time meant a reshuffle in midfield with Vicky Sanford and Kate Caddick working tirelessly to keep the game finely balanced. A lapse in concentration early in the second half allowed Stafford to strike 3 times in quick succession. Despite some great work the experience of the Stafford defence made it difficult for Tamworth to find a way through. Tamworth player of the match went to goalkeeper Margaret Worsley for a fine series of saves.
