Tamworth Men's Seconds Vs Evesham

Tamworth Men's Seconds achieved their second victory of the season so far in a well deserved win against Evesham away. Tamworth started the game off well when Jez Holloway opened the scoring from a short corner that deflected in off the opposition goalkeeper. Tamworth then continued to put pressure on Evsham throughout the first half and were dissapointed to lose Christian Holgate just before the break through injury.

Into the second half Evesham began thier fight to get back into the game but some excellent defending from the midfield by Nick Rammell and Robert Trivasse kept them at bay. Evesham nearly got the equaliser with ten minutes to go but goalkeeper Tony Banks made a succession of good saves, followed by some unbelievable last gasp defending by Simon Bowyer and debutant Ollie W. Tamworth were able to take advantage of the pressing Evesham side and counter attacked with Calum Taylor scoring a tap in with just minutes to spare to secure a vital and well deserved victory for Tamworth.
