Tamworth started the game strongly with Tom Sperrink laying on the opening goal to Tom Hancox to convert at the far post. Tamworth doubled their lead soon after when Ben Acheson’s shot was adjudged to have hit the foot of an Old Wulfs defender on the line, Ian Wagstaff converting the penalty flick. Again Old Wulfs hit back when a mis-hit short corner found the bottom corner. Tamworth went into half time 4-2 up, James Goode and Sperrink linking up before Ben Popple rifled into the bottom left corner from the top of the D.
The second half saw Old Wulfs immediately reduced the deficit when the ball was lost in midfield and Old Wulfs midfield playmaker was able to break and score with a reverse stick finish. Ryan Brisco scored soon after when he made the score 5-3 showing good awareness to score at the far post from a short corner but Old Wulfs hit back with 2 goals, both from short corners. Tamworth took the lead again through Brisco but Old Wulfs completed the scoring with a break down the left which left the match in a stalemate despite the concerted efforts of both teams to find a winner. |
