Tamworth started off the game very strong in the first 10 minutes which lead barton to conceive a goal scored by Laura Webb. But with bartons strong defence and quick attack managed to pull back leaving it 1-1. Both teams put in strong attacking play and good defence, but with a slight lack of concentrating on tamworths behalf lead barton to score from a short corner leaving the score 2-1 at half time. Tamworth came back in the second half strong and determined. Barton fought well as tamworth pushed hard to get short corners and even a goal. Tamworth were the stronger team in the second half as quick skillful play and constant pressure on the barton defence meant tamworth scored 2 late goals scored by Jo Goode and Lucy Aldridge ending the match in a 3-2 win. Gemma Rowe got Player of the Match for her strong defensive play and supporting attacking roles. |
