Tamworth Ladies Thirds Vs Stone

The ladies thirds returned to action this week following the Christmas break and were disappointed to not come away with a share of the spoils.  A much changed team Tamworth took their time to settle as Stone put them under some early pressure, but as the half went on the town side started to enjoy more possession with Lesley Broadway and Di Milner at the heart of the town’s good play. Sheri Allsop and Di Milner came closest to scoring for Tamworth with Vicky Butler making some good saves at the other end to keep the scores level at half time.

The second session was fairly evenly contested with both sides creating opportunities, a fortunate mishit shot gave Stone the lead midway through the half, a deflated town side took time to recover from this but as they regained their composure they pressed forward looking for an equaliser with Jo Bryan a constant threat down the right flank but two late Stone goals gave the score a rather flattering look.
