Match Report | The ladies thirds faced top of the table West Brom on Saturday losing 4-1. Tamworth made the worst possible start to the game as West Brom took the lead within the first minute and it looked like it would be a very long afternoon for the home side. However Tamworth settled and although they had to withstand a lot of pressure Wendy Garrett and Becky Moore at the heart of the towns defence made a number of excellent tackles and clearances to keep their opponents out, and the side went into half time only 1-0 down. In the second half Tamworth grew in confidence and enjoyed a greater share of possession with youngsters Meg Hogben and Hannah Jarvis causing problems for the West Brom defence, but the town side was unable to make that all important breakthrough and their opponent’s scored two more goals, Di Milner scored a consolation goal for Tamworth before West Brom sealed the win with a fourth goal.
