Match Report

The ladies thirds suffered their second successive league defeat away to a strong Keele side on Saturday.  Town started the game brightly with junior debutants Elissa Morris, Hannah Jarvis and Megan Hogben involved in a lot of Tamworth’s good play alongside Di Milner and Elaine Foxley who worked tirelessly in midfield. Tamworth’s dominance was rewarded when Claire Miles gave the side the lead midway through the half, but Keele responded well with a quick attack to equalise.  Hannah Jarvis scored her first goal for the club to restore the towns lead, and had Tamworth been more clinical in front of goal could have taken a commanding lead into the break however Keele’s pace on the break saw them draw level again to go into half time all square.  The second half saw Tamworth’s defence come under more pressure as Keele pressed forward and two early goals gave Keele a lead that they never relinquished.  Tamworth were restricted to break away attacks but once again couldn’t find the net and the home side added another goal before Elaine Foxley was rewarded for her hard work with a fine individual effort but the last word went to Keele who added a sixth goal.
