Match Report | Tamworth Men's First XI lost 6-1 at home to Market Harborough in the first game back after the winter break. Tamworth had a strong line up and although the visitors had the bulk of possession Tamworth had restricted them to few clear opportunities. Eventually however the pressure told and Harborough scored three times before the break as they were rewarded for their dominance. After the break Tamworth adjusted their formation to match their opponents and this saw Tamworth gain a foothold in the game as they finally created some opportunities. Town pulled a goal back when a penalty corner strike from Dave Langford was half saved and Tom Sperrink was on hand to jab the ball over the line. Further chances came with Cameron and Tom Hancox now able to get behind the opposition defence on occasion but again Tamworth let themselves down losing the ball in dangerous areas. Next SaturdayTamworth face a crucial game away at Buxton where a win would lift them seven points clear of the bottom two. |
