| Match Report | Tamworth Men's First XI were soundly beaten 8-1 away to North Notts in the final game before the mid season break. Tamworth took a strong side but were under pressure early on. A hotly disputed penalty flick gave the hosts the lead and this seemed to open the floodgates as Tamworth were unable to keep the ball and were scored against at regualr intervals to give North Notts a 5-0 lead at the break. In the second half Tamworth adjusted their formation and finally pushed back for the opening 10 minutes however they again succumbed to more goals as North Notts added 3 more before Ryan Brisco struck a shot that Tom Sperrink swept inside the near post to give Tamworth a consolation goal. A bump back down to earth as Tamworth put in their worst display for some weeks but with time over Christmas they will look to come back refreshed in 2016 to get the points to lift them out of any relegation worries. |
