Match Report | Tamworth started strongly with Alex gayton and Anne Marshall running freely up front. Claire miles and jackie Casey were strong in the centre of the pitch and distributed the ball around well. Against the run of play midway through the first half a messy goalmouth scramble resulted in a Phoenix goal. The half time team talk inspired tamworth to pick the pace up and a fantastic ball from Miles was picked up outside the 25 by gayton who beat 3 players before putting the ball through the keepers legs - the celebration of the season followed with gayton throwing her stick to the floor and raising her arms to the sky. Tamworth kept pushing hard and with 5 to go a short corner strike from miles went under the keeper and the Phoenix defender hit the ball against the keeper and the ball went into the goal for a tamworth to win. Marshall was voted man of the match.
