Match Report | Following a couple of disappointing results the ladies seconds responded superbly with a dominant performance against Cannock. Tamworth started positively and took the lead within five minutes; a strong run and cross from Becky Busby found Emma Gibb unmarked at the far post for an easy tap in. The town’s midfield quartet continued to dominate possession playing some excellent hockey, Claire Miles set up Becky Busby before scoring a penalty following good work from Elaine Foxley and Emma Gibb to give Tamworth a 3-0 half time lead. Cannock came out for the second session strongly enjoying a good spell of possession and pulled a goal back. But once the town settled they re-took control of the game moving the ball around in style creating a number of opportunities with Alex Gayton and Anne Marshall adding two more goals and securing three valuable points for Tamworth.
