Match Report | Tamworth Men's First XI wrapped up their league winning season with a draw at home to Derby. Town were under par following the highs of winning the league and the disappointment of exiting the cup in recent weeks. The highlights of the game came from familiar faces, in the first half it was Tony Banks who saved a penalty flick with an acrobatic save that saw the ball loop over the bar and kept the score at 0-0 at the break In the second half Ryan Brisco added his thirteeth league goal of the season as Tamworth took the lead but were pegged back with an equaliser from Derby and the match finished all square with an impressive first team debut from Josh Green. Tom Hancox will step down as captain but deserves a great deal of credit for leading Tamworth to an incredibly successful season. |
